Welcome to Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah (TAS) Oil & Gas Academy
Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah oil & gas academy was established during 2008 in the School of Engineering and Information Technology of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. This academy offers BTEC (British Technology Education Council) latest courses in four disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Process and Instrumentation at 3 levels which includes Level One; Foundation Certificate in Oil and Gas Operation, Level Two; Intermediate Diploma in Electrical Operation Technician, Instrument Operation Technician, Mechanical Operation Technician and Oil and Gas Production Operation Technician as well as Level Three (Advance Diploma in the same specializations).
The TAS academy aims to provide solution to the employers also to develop quality skilled and trained employees in the oil and gas industry in various disciplines on short term courses. The academic and physical support from the School of Engineering and Information Technology of UMS shall continue to compliment the academy confidence to specialize in the field of oil and gas industry. The academy aspires to be a significant oil and gas training provider through prestige, quality training and development programmes, and excellent scholars that matches the industry requirements in the region.
I like to mention that the qualification, skills and training courses provided by the academy are recognized by the Business and Technical Education Council (BTEC) from the United Kingdom, which is a globally established name in the industry, thus providing local graduates the opportunity to secure jobs both in and out of the nation. The TAS academy is striving to educate students and individuals who are socially responsible, and who are remarkably grounded in critical thinking on job potential.
Our vision is to develop constructive thinking and analytical capabilities of every student of the academy. Besides, the TAS academy is committed to provide students with a strong, broad based fundamental engineering and technical education and prepare the students for careers in oil and gas industry. We also plan to develop skills in students so that they would drive the spirit of growth of our economy. We look forward for preparing the students to solve the challenges in the oil and gas sector by offering technology solutions for the betterment of the society and the nation.
